NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
Please be aware that the Town of Winnsboro will be flushing its water system beginning on January 21. It is standard procedure to periodically flush or purge water systems in order to improve the quality of water provided over the long term. However, in the short term you may experience cloudy or discolored water. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience, but again, this is necessary to ensure an improved quality of the water over the long term.
The Ribbon Cutting for the additions to Fairfield County Council on Aging is rescheduled to January 27 at 11 AM. This is due to the anticipated bad weather. Please join us at 210 E Washington St. Winnsboro.
The Fairfield County Library has changed hours Due to Covid 19 impact on available staff. They will close on all weekdays at 6 PM. Saturdays remain 9 AM - 1PM. This will last until the end of February.
Monthly Meetings
Fairfield County Council meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. Meeting in the Council Chambers at 350 Columbia Rd. Winnsboro at 6:00 PM.
Town of Winnsboro Council meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Meeting at the Winnsboro Woman's Club Building 102 S Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro at 6:15 PM.
Town of Ridgeway Council meets the 2nd Thursday of each month. Meeting at Town Hall, 170 S Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway at 6:30 PM.
Winnsboro Lions Club
Meets at noon on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the China Buffet located in Fairfield Square shopping center on US Hwy 321 Bypass S. Winnsboro Rotary
Meets at 1 PM on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Fairfield County Council on Aging 210 E Washington S. Winnsboro. If you are interested in joining, please contact Jimi Mullen at (803)712-6100.
Ongoing Events
Youth Baseball & Softball Registration is open until March 14. $20 registration fee for all leagues. All fees MUST be paid. Season is March - May. Play age is determined by age on May 1, 2022. Tentative Dates for Spring Training March 24th - 25th. Tentative date for Coaches meeting March 9th. Sponsored by Fairfield County Parks & Recreation.
Free Vaccine Available at Fairfield County Health Dept. Currently offer Moderna, Pfizer, and Pediatric Pfizer from 8:30-4pm Mon-Friday No appointment needed.

January 27 - Ribbon Cutting at Fairfield Council on Aging Come help us celebrate the new additions to the FCCOA buildings. 11 AM 210 E Washington St. Winnsboro.
January 26 - 29 - Turn-In Dates for Juried Art Show Dear ARTISTS … fellow and future members of FCAC (Fairfield County Arts Council) Get your art work ready for the ANYTHING goes juried art show. LARRY ELDER of Larry Elder Art Consultancy will be the juror and cash prizes will be announced at the opening reception on the first Friday in February. Artwork should not be larger than 16x20. Take in will be the dates of January 26, 27,28, 9 AM -5 PM and 29 from 9 AM-1PM. Location 121 E Washington St. Winnsboro SC Heirloom Fine Art Gallery.
January 28-Hiring Event for Zaxby's in Blythewood Zaxby's is looking for employees, full and part time. The Hiring Event will be held at 170 S Dogwood Ave. Ridgeway from 1PM - 4 PM. If you know anyone that is looking for a job, please share this with them.
January 29 - Oyster Roast Fundraiser for Fairfield County Council on Aging. 5 - 8 PM at 210 E Washington St. Live Music, chili, oysters & more. Tickets are on sale now for $35 per person and can be purchased in person, over the phone or on the FCCOA website. (803)635-3015.
February Events
February is Fairfield County Restaurant Month There will be discount cards distributed to all participating restaurants and merchants in Winnsboro and Ridgeway. These cards will have discounts at most of the restaurants when the card is shown between Feb. 1st - Feb. 28th. The cards will be available starting on Fri, Jan 28th and the list of locations will be available on our Facebook page.
